The Murray State Bank was chartered with the State of Nebraska on September 1, 1900 by R. E. Finney, E. Finney, and E.B. Finney. W. G. Boedeker purchased and managed the bank from 1920 to 1953. Following his death the bank was taken over by his son, Charles. Since 1974 the bank has been owned by Swedlund Management Company with its principal being Larry Swedlund. The bank prides itself in being steeped in history and tradition, while constantly keeping current with changing times and technology. It was one of the first banks in the county to become totally computerized. It was also one of the first banks in the county to offer the electronic process of check imaging.
