  • Image verifies the user is on the correct site prior to providing password
  • High-risk transactions trigger authentication (challenge) questions

  • The bank may call customer to verify a transfer or bill payment

What customers should do to protect identity

• Never reveal confidential information to anyone calling you or emailing you
  • The bank will never ask to verify confidential information by e-mail
  • The bank will only ask to verify confidential information if the customer places the call
  • Do not give debit card or account information unless you are authorizing your account to be debited
     
• Update anti-virus and anti-spyware software regularly
   
• Update all software on computer or device with vendor security patches
  • Include Microsoft, Java, Adobe patches and updates
     
• Passwords should be strong and changed often
  • System requires password change at 120 days, but more often is more secure
  • Use combination of upper and lower case letters
  • System requires at least 8-character passwords, but up to 25 allowed
  • Do not use common words, names, etc that could be easily guessed by someone else
     
• Always Log Off - do not just close or "X" out of online programs
   
• Check your accounts often
   
• Monitor all debit and credit card activity
   
• Be alert for skimming devices at ATM or other machines that have card insert capabilities
   
• Check your credit report at least annually
