Our History

In 2001, a group of local bankers began discussing the idea of forming a bank, and envisioned a bank owned by local people. They started with a premise that this new bank would above all offer exceptional service and value to not only its customers but the community as a whole. A true community bank that would use state of the art technology, offer exceptional products and services, and be operated by an experienced and committed staff.

The vision became a reality when SouthEast Bank & Trust began operations on April 29, 2002 with 25 employees at two locations – Athens and Decatur.

Today, SouthEast Bank & Trust has grown to 85 employees and over $250 million in total assets and seven banking locations – Athens, Cleveland, Dayton, Decatur, Ooltewah, Spring City and Ten Mile.
