Farming has been a way of life in this area for hundreds of years and continues today. In fact, our community is home to several Century Farms which have been in the continual production by the same family for over a hundred years. You need only look at the success of the Strawberry Festival in Dayton, MooFest in Athens, the participation in FFA, and the many produce displays and livestock entrants at our local fairs to understand the importance and influence farming has on our culture and way of life. That’s why we have real farmers on our Board.
