So, we have developed a Team of people who understand our mission, and who are committed to helping our families and communities succeed.
Our three bank locations and our twenty-one employees are managed by an experienced 7-member Management Team made up of five executive loan officers, our Head Teller and our Bookkeeping Supervisor. The group combines more than 130 years of banking experience. This Team works with our local Board of Directors and our Loan Officer Committee to supervise the operations of the Bank.
Through local ownership, a hometown Board of Directors and managing officers every decision is made here at home. We have no other interest than serving our customers and our communities.

John was born and raised in Ponca. He is a graduate of Ponca High School and the University of South Dakota. He is the fourth generation of the Kingsbury family to be bank president starting with his great grandfather in 1927. John started at BDC by burning the Bank's garbage in fifth grade. He began full time in 1971. He works extensively in local and regional community, business and economic development.
He is also President of the Better Ponca Foundation, Inc. and has served Nebraska State Highway Commission, Siouxland Ethanol Board of Directors, the NEBRASKAland Foundation and a number of state and local organizations. John and his wife, Myra, live in Ponca.
Richard was also born and raised on a farm near Ponca and graduated from Ponca High School in 1976. He attended Midland and Wayne State college. He received his early farm lending background with the former Farmers Home Administration. Richard began at the bank in 1980. He is in charge of overall lending, chairs the Office Loan Committee and Loan Department Committee. Richard is also a director on the Bank Board. He is President of the Ponca Community Educational Foundation and is a member of the Ponca School Board. He is also NASB director of the 18th Educational District. Richard is also a member of the Better Ponca Foundation and various other community organizations. Richard and his wife, Joni, reside in Ponca.
Chris is the fifth generation of the Kingsbury family to work at the Bank. He was born in Omaha, but grew up in St. Louis and Cincinnati graduating from Hamilton High School in Ohio. Chris was a McDonald's All-American. He played basketball at the University of Iowa, as well as the CBA and in Europe. Chris began at the Bank in 2001. He is a licensed executive loan officer and is in charge of personnel, operations and investments. He is a member of the Loan Committee and Bank Board.
Brian grew up in Wayne, NE and his wife Kerrie's family is from Ponca. Brian received his BA degree in Accounting and holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration both from Wayne State College. Brian, Kerrie and their two sons Mathew and Bradley live in Ponca. Brian is the bank's Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Bank's Management and Loan Committees. He splits his time between Ponca and Jackson where he is the Branch Manager and a licensed loan officer. Brian was in charge of finance and recordkeeping for the Ponca Carnegie Library restoration and addition and the financial recordkeeping for the Ponca Community Sports & Recreation Complex. He is a member of the Better Ponca Foundation and an elected member of the Ponca City Council.
Josh is a licensed loan officer at all three Bank locations and serves as our Branch Manager in Newcastle, his primary location. He lives in rural Newcastle with his wife Jessica and their two daughters. Josh graduated from Newcastle High School and received his bachelor's degree in Business from Wayne State College. He has also completed a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Josh has an extensive background in investments and finance. His primary duties include agriculture, real estate and consumer lending and insurance sales in the Newcastle and Vermillion areas.
Garrett is a licensed loan officer at our main office in Ponca although he serves all three bank locations. He currently resides in Vermillion, South Dakota where he serves our Vermillion customers and our growth in South Dakota. Garrett graduated from Ponca High School in 2008 and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Garrett also serves in the Nebraska Air National Guard. His duties include consumer, commercial and ag lending, as well as commercial and ag credit reviews.
